Swansea City boss Paul Clement insists that he has full trust in the clubs new owners and admitted that there is a great relationship between them.<\/p>\n

Paul Clement was appointed as manager in January and admitted that the relationship between him and the clubs owners is strong and the type of club that Swansea are was the main reason for his acceptance of the job, according to Wales Online.<\/p>\n

Clement said: \u201cI said it was the best decision of my career to come here because first of all it was an opportunity to manage at this level. Secondly, because of the type of club.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“I went to another club (Derby), my first opportunity as a manager, and I enjoyed my experience there. But for some reason the fit wasn’t right.”<\/p>\n

He added: “The results that I had there were not bad, far from it. But here I feel the fit is a lot better \u2013 it’s a lot better with the identity and the tradition of this club, it’s better with the players that I have, it’s better with the owners and the chairman and I’d like to make a point about that as well because the owners and Huw have come in for their own share of criticism, but I’ve really enjoyed working for them and the process that we have.”<\/p>\n

It’s been just under 12 months since the American owners came in to take control of the South Wales club and their takeover was heavily scrutinised during the early months, with their appointment of American manager Bob Bradley and the way that the situation was handled overall.<\/p>\n

However, Swansea are competing in their seventh straight Premier League campaign and since promotion from the Championship in 2011, they have gone on to consolidate their rightful place in the English top flight.<\/p>\n

The 45-year-old went on to talk about the relationship he has with the chairman and their regular discussions over the progress of the team and the positivity\u00a0that conducts throughout the club.<\/p>\n

Clement continued:\u00a0“My relationship with the chairman is excellent. When I heard that he’s a chairman who is here all the time, after some of my previous experiences I was like: ‘Wow, Okay’ b<\/inline>ut I have to say we have a meeting five to 10 minutes every day, really positive.\u00a0<\/inline><\/p>\n

He added: “He has a lot of experience in football, he is a super positive guy, so even in that period when results didn’t go well he had a lot of belief still.\u00a0<\/inline>He gave me belief, which goes onto the players.”<\/inline><\/p>\n
