?Swansea goalkeeper\u00a0Lukasz Fabianski has stated that they could have easily been in Sunderland’s position if it wasn’t for boss Paul Clement, via the\u00a0<\/inline>?Daily Star.<\/inline><\/p>\n

The Swans were sitting at the bottom of the table with just 12 points from 19 games when Clement replaced\u00a0<\/inline>Bob Bradley at the beginning of January and with success unlikely to come over night they were still in danger of dropping to the Championship last month.\u00a0<\/inline><\/p>\n

Clement turned the team’s form around however and after a four-game unbeaten run he saved them from relegation with a game to spare.<\/inline><\/p>\n

Fabianski has played in all the side’s league games this season and has witnessed the horror they have suffered first hand.\u00a0<\/inline><\/p>\n

He admitted:\u00a0<\/inline>\u201cIt could quite easily have been us in <\/inline>Sunderland\u2019s position.<\/inline><\/p>\n

\u201cYou would have to say it was pretty bad, not just in terms of results but the way we performed.\u00a0<\/inline>We were not just losing games but losing them by three goals. It was horrible both home and away.<\/inline><\/p>\n

\u201cBefore the manager arrived, we looked in pretty bad shape.\u00a0A lot of people had written us off so for him to do what he\u2019s done in little more than four months, is pretty impressive.<\/inline><\/p>\n

\u201cNo one would have predicted after beating Sunderland, we would find ourselves four points clear of Hull.\u00a0<\/inline>It just shows you the corner we have turned since the manager came in.\u201d<\/inline><\/p>\n

Swansea still have the opportunity to finish higher in the table when they welcome West Brom to the Liberty stadium this Sunday for the final game of the season.\u00a0<\/inline><\/p>\n

If they win they could leapfrog Watford and Burnley if either of those sides lose, but the Hornets have a game in hand to play first which could put them out of reach.<\/inline><\/p>\n
