?Sunderland boss David Moyes has said that his side deserved at least a point following the Black Cats’ fourth defeat in the last five games.<\/p>\n

The north east side went down 1-0 at Vicarage Road on Saturday\u00a0courtesy of an\u00a0average at best Watford display, which saw\u00a0Miguel Britos net the only goal of the game midway through the second half.\u00a0<\/inline><\/p>\n

The result sees the Wearsiders remain rooted to the foot of\u00a0<\/inline>the\u00a0Premier League table –\u00a0seven points adrift from safety\u00a0with nine games to go.\u00a0<\/inline><\/p>\n

But the 53-year-old believes that his side should have made the long journey back with something to show for their\u00a0<\/inline>efforts.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“The players showed a lot of heart, big commitment right to the end,” he told\u00a0?Sky Sports. <\/em><\/p>\n

<\/i><\/p>\n

“We tried to find a way of scoring but it’s been a problem for us recently. I don’t think we deserved to lose the game. We deserved to get something out of it.”<\/p>\n

The Hornets’\u00a058th\u00a0minute winner resulted from\u00a0Sunderland struggling to deal with a set-piece –\u00a0something that has haunted them throughout this campaign.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Fabio Borini failed to divert his defensive\u00a0header away from danger and instead cannoned the ball off his own crossbar, allowing Britos to take advantage of the looping rebound.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Even though the Black Cats showed costly\u00a0frailties yet again, Moyes was pleased with his side’s overall performance.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“We did well as we had to defend a few [set-pieces], especially in the first half. We just don’t quite see the job through in the second half on one of them”, the Scot added.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“They didn’t really have any other real opportunities. Jordan [Pickford] made a great save in the first half, after that it was pretty even.”<\/p>\n
