Sunderland manager David Moyes has accepted criticism\u00a0from supporters, claiming that it is to be expected after what has been a difficult campaign for the Black Cats.<\/p>\n

Moyes’ side are rock bottom of the Premier League with 10 games lefts to play, already seven points adrift of safety.<\/p>\n

And although there has been talk of replacing Moyes with another manager until the end of the season, the Scotsman feels that a change of manager would further disrupt Sunderland’s season.<\/p>\n

He told the\u00a0?Sunderland Echo:\u00a0?\u201cI think Sunderland supporters have been through it all before, and they would turn around and tell you that changing manager is not the right way \u2013 the club has tried that.\u00a0<\/inline><\/p>\n

\u201cI think they have seen that it has not worked, and the club has had to look to try something else. But when you\u2019re not winning, you get the criticism that goes with it.\u201d\u00a0<\/inline><\/p>\n

\u201cIt [clarity] has helped, I think. We have tried to be right up front, there has been no hiding anything.\u00a0<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

\u201cMy comments in the first couple of weeks of the season did not go down well, but I was being honest because I didn\u2019t think we had enough to get us away from where we were in terms of relegation battles.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cThe supporters have been great, but if they weren\u2019t then I would totally understand.”\u00a0<\/inline><\/p>\n

On the topic of Aitor Karanka’s sacking at Middlesbrough, Moyes added:\u00a0<\/inline>\u201cIt doesn\u2019t always [make a difference], but nor is there a rule that the manager who comes in always makes a difference in the long-term, even though sometimes it can give you a short-term boost.\u201d<\/inline><\/p>\n
