Chelsea’s N’Golo Kanté has been in superb form since joining the Blues from league champions Leicester City in the summer, for a fee of around £30m.
The French international has been a solid addition to the Chelsea midfield, forming a rock solid partnership with Nemanja Matic which has kept superstar Cesc Fábregas rooted to the bench.
However, speaking in an interview with the Chelsea website before their 1-1 draw at Anfield, the former Leicester City midfielder admitted that he is still getting used to his role in Antonio Conte’s 3-4-3 formation, and also revealed that he is enjoying playing in the side, via The Sport Review).
“At Leicester, the plan was to stay compact and to go forward with the ball when we counter-attacked.
“At Chelsea we play in a different formation.
“The way I play here is to protect the back three, to control the balance of the game from midfield, and to find the attacking players in the team with my passing.
“I am happy in this position and with the way I am playing it.”
Despite Chelsea dropping points in their 1-1 draw vs Liverpool at Anfield, the Blues still managed to extend their Premier league lead at the top of the table to nine points after Arsenal lost 2-1 to Watford at the Emirates.
N’Golo Kanté was in fine form for the west London side as he recorded some very impressive defensive stats.
