French Journalist Claims Host of Premier Clubs Could Sign Lyon Striker This Summer

A host of English clubs are looking to sign Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette this summer, according to French journalist Julien Laurens.

As reported in the ?Express, Laurens stated: ?“He could go to England – whether that’s Arsenal, Liverpool or Tottenham I don’t know. They will have to pay around £40-£50m for him.”

All three clubs are rumoured to be keen on reinforcing their forward line. Tottenham have long been over reliant on Harry Kane’s goal scoring exploits. Furthermore, neither Liverpool nor Arsenal possess a centre forward in the mould of Kane, Costa, Aguero or Ibrahimovic.

Lacazette scored on Sunday in Lyon’s 5-0 hammering of relegation threatened Metz, and the French hitman has been in fine form this season scoring 27 goals in just 31 appearances in all competitions. The 25 year-old has long been linked with a move to the Premier League, with West Ham and Arsenal previously credited with strong interest.

However, it seems that Lacazette may well finally leave the French side this summer with rumours he has announced his intention to depart this summer to club president Jean-Michel Aulas.

Despite Lacazette’s impressive goal scoring exploits Lyon are placed 4th in Ligue 1, 16 points adrift of league leaders Monaco, and a full 13 points outside of the Champions League qualifying places.
