Ex-Manchester City Striker Stevan Jovetic Picks a Side in the Eternal Messi or Ronaldo Debate

It seems everyone has weighed in with their opinion on the eternal Lionel Messi or Ronaldo debate, including former Manchester City forward Stevan Jovetić.

Now playing his trade in Spain at La Liga title chasers Sevilla, the 27-year-old has offered his opinion on who is the best, plumping for the Barcelona man as his personal favourite.

FIFA Ballon d'Or Gala 2015

Speaking to La Liga Santander (via Goal) about who he thought was better Jovetić said unequivocally: “Messi is the best, no-one can better him.”

The Barcelona star has scored 34 goals in 34 games in all competitions for Barca this season, which is 12 more than Ronaldo has netted.

However, the Real Madrid man did beat his rival to the much-coveted Ballon d’Or last year, further reigniting the huge on-going debate of who is better.

The on-loan Sevilla star also added: “When you see him [Messi], he makes everything look easy. He is the best of all time.”

While Messi’s talent is undeniable, his once feared Barcelona team may have lost their touch against the European big guns, after being humiliated by PSG in the Champions League 4-0. Whereas Ronaldo and Real Madrid cruised past Napoli 3-1 in their first leg.
