Ex-England Hero Paul Gascoigne Sends Cry for Help After Gin and Cocaine Binge Sees Him Hospitalised

?Former England international Paul Gascoigne has sent out an emotional cry for help after a two day binge on gin and cocaine saw him hospitalised, claiming: “I f***ing hate being an alcoholic.”

The 49-year-old, who played for the likes of Tottenham Hotspur, Everton and Lazio, reportedly opened up the media about his recent troubles with drugs and alcohol, and according to ?The Sun, ‘Gazza’ spoke of a recent drinking session that was so out of control that he took himself to hospital in order to keep himself safe.

“I had a blip and I ended up in hospital on two drips,” said Gascoigne.

“I took myself to hospital because I knew I had messed up. I’d done myself some damage with the gin. If I spoke to anyone about cocaine I regret it. If anything happened I regret it.”

The binge was apparently triggered after the a series of events in the build up to England’s World Cup qualifier with Scotland at Wembley.

Beforehand, Gazza had been back home in Newcastle to mourn the tragic death of his nephew, but after drinking on the train back to London, he never made it to Wembley, and travelled back to Bournemouth to stay in a hotel after losing his bag and keys, which saw him begin a drinking session.

“The next thing I remember these four guys asked me if I wanted some cocaine,” continued Gazza.

“For these four guys to offer me cocaine and drink was disgusting. I wanted to hit one of them. I was leaning over the toilet because I was being sick. I am an alcoholic and it is my fault, but luckily I knew I had to stop.

Gazza checked himself into the A&E and Poole Hospital where he was hooked up to a saline drip and a vitamin and water drip while his condition was monitored, and is now back to keeping sober.

Let’s hope it stays that way.
