Everton Winger Gerard Deulofeu Set to Undergo Medical With AC Milan Ahead of Move to the San Siro

Everton’s Gerard Deulofeu is set to undergo a medical with AC Milan on Monday, ahead of his proposed loan move to the Italian giants.

The Spaniard looks set to leave Goodison Park following a disappointing start to the current campaign. Deulofeu left Barcelona for Everton back in the summer of 2015 having previously spent a season on loan with the club two years before.

Despite a reasonable return of four goals and 11 assists in the last campaign, the winger has been unable to replicate his form and has only made 13 appearances so far this season.

With Everton manager Ronald Koeman on the lookout for new players, Deolofeu has been granted permission to leave on loan until June and it appears a move to AC Milan has all but been agreed as he prepares to complete a medical with the club on Monday.

It was thought that the 22-year-old had already signed for the Rossoneri last Friday when the club’s Twitter account welcomed Deulofeu, however the tweet was swiftly deleted after reports suggested it angered Everton, who insisted that terms of the deal needed to be agreed before confirmation could be made.

The terms of the loan move are not yet clear, but it is understood that Deulofeu will stay at the San Siro for the remainder of the season, although Milan have opted not to put a clause into the contract that will allow them to buy the player in the summer.

It is understood that Deulofeu’s former side, Barcelona, have first refusal on a potential transfer away from Goodison and inserted a buy-back clause into his curent Everton deal that would allow them to resign the forward for an estimated £9m.
